The list of things that have gone unattended on the farm is long:
The horses’ manes are in knots, their tails still are brown with winter mud stains
The dogs’ nails need trimming, their coats need brushing
The cats need help shedding, and I don’t mean on my sweaters
Everyone is overdue for vaccinations and worming
The fish tank has algae so long it waves at me as I go by
The fish pond is green–very green
The list goes on and on. The more I think about what needs to be done, the more tied up in knots I get.
I just need a reminder: only undo one knot at a time.
